Zyrtec® Storytime returns with a brand-new adventure “Zach and Zoe's Sneezy Treasure Hunt”, created to help Aussie parents, grandparents and carers recognise the signs and symptoms of allergic rhinitis.
Developed in collaboration with mother of four Bec Judd, this year's story builds on the much-loved Zach and Zoe series and introduces an exciting treasure-hunt adventure that explores everyday allergy triggers kids may encounter.
Inspired by her own experiences caring for her children with allergies and hayfever, Bec's involvement helps shine a light on the importance of recognising symptoms early and feeling confident managing children's allergy symptoms.
Together, Zyrtec® and Bec Judd hope to educate families about the causes, symptoms and triggers of allergic rhinitis, helping families learn together, one story at a time.
While visiting their grandparents, Zach and Zoe set off on a fun treasure hunt! But, as they explore dusty rooms, grassy gardens and cuddly pets, Zach starts sneezing, sniffling and feeling itchy.
Will they find Grandma's missing ring?
And will they find out what’s making Zach feel so uncomfortable.
WHAT IS ALLERGIC RHINITIS?
Allergic rhinitis is a condition that results in symptoms such as sneezing, runny noses and watery, itchy eyes.
While many Aussies have heard of hay fever which be caused by seasonal triggers like pollen,
symptoms of allergic rhinitis can be triggered all-year-round by things like dust, pet dander and mould.
HOW CAN I TELL IF MY CHILD HAS ALLERGIC RHINITIS?
As children may not be able to describe their symptoms accurately, parents may confuse symptoms of allergic rhinitis with the common cold due to their similarities.
Along with common symptoms such as sneezing, itchy/watery eyes, runny nose and itchy skin, parents can also look out for these potential behaviours in children:
● The ’allergic salute’ - a continued pushing of the nose tip upwards
● Nasal crease’ - a line across the middle of the nose due to pushing upwards
● Allergic shiners’ - dark circles under the eyes caused by congestion of the nose and sinuses

‘Zach and Zoe’s Sneezy Treasure Hunt’, is a new storybook that aims to raise awareness of allergic rhinitis, sponsored by Zyrtec®. Through this book we hope to educate parents, guardians and families about the causes, symptoms, and triggers of allergic rhinitis. This is particularly important as we head into the spring season – the time when allergic rhinitis affects people the most.
Why is this book so important?
We know that as a parent or guardian, the health and wellbeing of your children is a top priority. Through this book, we aim to help parents and families get familiar with the signs and symptoms of allergic rhinitis so that they can correctly identify the condition and treat the symptoms appropriately as they can be easily managed.
How can readers get a copy of the book?
Zach and Zoe’s Sneezy Treasure Hunt will be available as a free gift with purchase at Chemist Warehouse, Terry White Chemmart and other participating independent pharmacies, from 1st October to 31st December 2026, or until stocks last. It will also be available as a downloadable e-book here on our website!
What are the typical signs of allergic rhinitis?
Allergic rhinitis is a response from the immune system that overreacts to normally harmless substances called allergens. This responses can tigger symptoms like sneezing, runny nose and watery, itchy eyes. Similar to hay fever, it can be caused by seasonal and environmental triggers such as pollen. However, allergic rhinitis can occur all-year-round, and can be triggered by dust, pet dander, and mould.
